法光寺（南部町）

鎌倉時代、北条時頼により開山したと伝えられる曹洞宗の東北屈指の名刹。日本一の高さを誇る三重塔・承陽塔や日本の名松100選に選ばれた樹齢600年余りの千本松、樹齢千年、周囲が7.7mもある爺杉などが見られる。

Hokoji Temple (Nanbu Town)
Hokoji Temple, which is said to have been established since the Kamakura Period (from approximately 800 years age), is one of the most famous temples of the Soto Zen School in the Tohoku area. There is also the tallest three-story pagoda in Japan and the Senbonmatsu over 600 years old, which was chosen as one of the 100 best pine trees in Japan.
